"Eating and reading are two pleasures that combine
admirably" says C L Lewis, and I had the luxury to enjoy the matrimony of
the two!
Yep, was on holidays in "God's own country" -
kerala- i.e home sweet home :)
The little pleasures of:
-finishing all the unread pending books in the flights
-the comfort curling on the couch and mum getting tea and
perfect accompaniments yada yada
-the privilege of owning the remote control to yourself and
lazily fiddling channels
-visiting relatives and the sheer joy on realising that they
still remember your favourite dishes..
and the effort they made to make the same
-dozing off on the couch while fiddling those channels-
Priceless :)
If this sounds like the confessions of "super
lazaholic" (a new addition to the dictionary) - not too wrong, that is what
holidays are designed for!
It was a joy sitting beside my 85 years young grand mum and
watching her talk, not a single grey hair and constant smile on her face-
wonder how she does it.
Kochi, my dear hometown is on its way to be a "smart
city".. It was quite surprising to see :
-Supermarkets as big as Coles/Safeway
-Audi's and BMW's as just another cars on the road
-uber- cool fashion
-great cafe's and superb ice cream joints
and yet has preserved the originality, though we still are
one "America crazed" lot :)
Met the few of my friends from school and Engineering , most are in every other continent possible..:)
the love and warmth of dear country..Thy shall be missed
dearly till the next trip!
